How We Started
Inspired by Paul Newman's commitment to giving back, Graham Rahal launched his own philanthropic journey by founding the Graham Rahal Foundation in 2009, supporting his local community. In 2019, the foundation was rebranded as the Graham & Courtney Rahal Foundation to reflect the joint dedication of Graham and Courtney to their shared mission.
Since then, GCRF has proudly contributed over $1.5 million to its charitable partners—Turns For Troops/SoldierStrong and One Cure through signature events like the Drivers Tournament and Vino For Vets.
Racing to $1 Million
With every lap Graham completes during an NTT INDYCAR SERIES race in the No. 15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan car, United Rentals donates $50.00 to SoldierStrong through their Turns For Troops program.
From the start of the program in 2016 through the 2024 season, Graham has helped raise $920,150.00 thanks to the generosity of United Rentals and their mission to give back to our military veterans.
How We Fundraise
The Graham and Courtney Rahal Foundation hosts two annual fundraising events: The Drivers Tournament powered by United Rentals and Vino For Vets powered by DEEM. We also welcome general in-kind donations, periodically sell merchandise, organize various drives, and partner with local businesses to support our mission.
The Drivers Tournament is an annual golf event held at Brickyard Crossing, located within the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, on the Thursday before the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. Proceeds from the tournament support Turns For Troops' SoldierSuit (exoskeleton) initiative through SoldierStrong, as well as One Cure’s research on the Losartan clinical trial.
Vino For Vets is an exclusive weekend getaway for couples in the heart of Napa, featuring exceptional wine and unforgettable experiences.
